World ATC Day - Thirty Ninth ATC Day Issue, Oct 2013

Greetings From The Member ANS, AAI
We are marching ahead with major ANS initiatives in our quest for enhanced safety, efficiency and capacity and such initiatives are required to be disseminated through official and other professional media.

The recent awards we have won in ATC Global 2013 and the Janes' Award in 2012 have propelled us into limelight, thanks to the electronic media such as the one maintained by you. I compliment you and your colleagues involved in this noble venture espousing the cause of Indian Air Navigation Services.

I have carefully chosen to time this message as the World Air Traffic Controllers Day is drawing near the World ATC day is a day meant for celebrating a unique profession of ATCOs exhibiting selfless team-work, quick-silver reflexes, ability to remain calm amidst difficult situations and above all, uniqueness to shoulder responsibility. In addition to the above typical qualities, it is essential that the Controllers keep themselves abreast of the latest challenges and future trends in Air Navigation Services, as we will be aligning our ANS initiatives with ICAO's Global Air Navigation Plan and Aviation System Block Upgrade contained therein. It is also essential that the Controllers develop keenness in unraveling difficult concepts that we will be encountering while implementing our plans in line with Aviation system Block Upgrades. System Wide Information Management is a classic example which requires a serious effort from the Controllers to understand a difficult but an inevitable concept in future.

I am very confident that your website will dedicate considerable effort, time and web space focusing on future trends in Air Navigation Services, much to the delight and benefit of ATCOs.

I take this opportunity not only in complimenting you on your dedicated efforts beyond the call of normal duty hours in maintaining such a professional website but also in conveying my best wishes to our ATCO fraternity for an enjoyable and enterprising career ahead.

It is bounden duty on all of us to chip in with our mite in every possible way to ensure and enhance safety of aircraft operations in the country.
